Program Overview
Feltons Bayview Multi-Service Resource Drop-In Center provides support individuals experiencing homelessness throughout San Francisco. This program provides various amenities orchestrated by our Peer Advisors, who are well versed in the needs of clients and how to navigate through San Franciscos Homeless Response System (Via trainings conducted by HSH). The clients can drop-in daily to take advantage of free meals, hot showers, laundry facilities at no-cost as well as access to substance abuse programs, job search and housing assistance. Clients can also receive mail at our location during business hours and its securely locked and managed by our administrative staff. We also offer 50 spots for clients to rest on a nightly basis that is safe (Security on site 24-7), clean (On-site roaming janitorial staff) and peaceful (Serenity Room for physically/mentally vulnerable to ensure our clients can rest peacefully.) Clients can engage in games, activities or simply debrief from long days with television and some quiet time. Our clients come back religiously every night because we treat each client with respect and promote a familial atmosphere in our Drop-In center.

Job Description
  • Provide direct support to clients including but not limited to wellness checks, teaching of independent living skills, and assist clients with linkage to various community resources and services including Medi-Cal, benefits, housing, etc.
  • Provide administrative support to your department/building (answering phones, completing paperwork as it relates to compliance ie. DOS, Critical Incident Reporting)
  • Conduct new client intake appointments with all new participants and be able to read, clarify and explain all client rules and regulations as it relates to our various services.
  • Provide outreach and engagement with various Community Based Organizations in the form of phone calls, one-on-one outreach meetings, on-site clients transfers, community activities with clients, and group activities
  • Maintain client log in sheets for services (meals, showers, laundry, etc) and enter in the appropriate relevant information into the database identified by Supervisory staff (OneSystem, Circe). Enforce rules designated for your assigned post with program participants.
  • Maintain regular communication with team members including attendance at monthly staff meetings, and any offsite training meetings that may be established, as well as regular contact with fellow team members at the beginning and end of each shift regarding client updates
  • Meet all deadlines and comply with agencys requirements
  • Provide individual support to empower and strengthen client self-responsibility, including support to access community resources that foster hope, resiliency, and recovery
  • Availability to work evenings and/or weekends, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualification (For this position, Open weekend availability is essential)
  • A minimum of one year in personal experience with mental health issues and/or substance abuse required. Professional mental health outreach/engagement experience highly desirable.
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Peer Specialist Training program, Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification and/or WRAP facilitator training, a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with and respect differences of opinion, beliefs, culture, appearances and ways of life
  • Food Handlers Certificate, a plus
