People Operations SpecialistThe People Operations Specialist will function as a HR subject matter expert on all people issues to ensure we attract, develop and retain the best talent. The People Operations Specialist is responsible for assisting operations personnel with compliance with policies and procedures.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesIdentifies and tracks staffing needs of business and works proactively to fill them via internal and external hiring, succession planning, and retention practicesCollaborates with operations management to maintain positive employee and labor relations including managing local employee relations processesManages the hiring process including creation requisitions, recruiting, selection of candidates, preparation of offers of employment and conducts new hire orientationsEnsures that candidate backgrounds, education, and references are verified before hiring decisions are madeConducts exit interview and monitors all activities related with departing employees Oversight responsibility for compliance to company rules & policies and government regulationsInvestigates employee relation issues and allegations of policy and rule violations Coordinates employee training and development, engagement, and retention activities for assigned operationsCouncils and assists management in employee discipline, improvement plans and termination hearings/meetingsAdhere to all Company and OSHA rules and regulations at all times and wear proper safety equipment while on plant groundsMeet or exceed company safety standardsPerform other job responsibilities as assigned by managementMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and/or experience4 years of Human Resources experienceBilingual a plusKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesDeep knowledge of Human Resources Generalist functionKnowledge of Labor Relations fundamentals preferredStrategic decision making and tactical human resources experienceStrong communication skills written and verbal, including presentations before small and large groupsProficient with a personal computer - word, excel and power-pointAnalytical thinking - problem solver that seeks best solution(s)Team Player - works well with others and is capable of collaborating across regions & functionsEthical and high compliance to institutional policies and standardsStrong sense of urgency and customer serviceAbility to manage multiple issues at one timeMust have a valid state driver's license.Must maintain a clean and insurable driving record throughout employment, as defined by company vehicle insurance standards.Working ConditionsCapability to work extended hours as necessaryCapable of working in an industrial manufacturing environment including noise exposure, temperature fluctuations, and exposure to weather elements when requiredAbility to work all hours including early morning, nights and weekendsPhysical RequirementsAbility to physically perform the essential job functions for the positionRequires walking and sitting, to a significant degreeExerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequentlyJob involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of timeWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitorsEEO/AA StatementCavco Industries Inc., and all of its Subsidiaries are an EEO/AA (equal opportunity/affirmative action) institution and does not discriminate on the basis of sex, age, race, color, religion, physical or mental disability, creed, national origin, veteran status, sexual orientation, genetic information, gender identity, or gender expression in the programs or activities which it operates.
