Description:Our client headquartered in Georgia is seeking a Performance Engineer based at their new manufacturing facility in Roswell. The position reports to the Engineering Manager and offers a collaborative and innovative work environment with career advancement opportunities. The Performance Engineer will serve as the SME for turbojet engine performance and be responsible for ownership of in-house thermodynamic cycle deck and analysis tools for all jet engine models.The ideal candidate has proven performance analysis, modeling and testing in the gas turbine industry, including thermodynamics and fluid dynamics. Possesses excellent communication, multitasking and high-impact problem solving skills.Duties/Responsibilities:Develop and enhance tools and methodologies for evaluating engine performance across a range of operating conditionsCollaborate with Engineering Leadership on shaping the Technology Roadmap, focusing on performance analytics and engine health monitoring to lead innovations in gas turbine industryAnalyze performance and operational data to generate reports with clear, actionable insights to support design and development initiativesConduct performance assessments for new customer applications and evaluate installation impacts on engine operationSupport production test cell operations by analyzing performance metrics, troubleshooting issues and tracking key indicators such as first-pass yieldContribute to propulsion system test plans for investigations, component validation, process improvements and optimization effortsGenerate visualization tools to support performance analysis and data interpretationSkills/Requirements:Expertise with Numerical Propulsion System Simulation (NPSS), GasTurb or other gas turbine performance calculation softwareProficient with MATLAB, Python, C++ or other high-level programming languageDeep knowledge of gas turbine technology including thermodynamics and fluid dynamicsFamiliarity with GD&T utilizing ASME standards and drafting best practicesStrong understanding of turbomachinery design principles, operations and failure modes with ability to correlate analytical models with empirical test dataMust be willing to travel (up to 15%)Qualifications:7+ Years of experience in Gas Turbine industry, including 5+ years in performance modelingBachelor’s degree from accredited four-year College or University in Mechanical, Aerospace or related engineering field (Master's or PhD a plus)Must be US Citizen and eligible to obtain US DoD ClearanceExposure to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) a plusFamiliarity with defense industry standards and aerospace propulsion systems such as MIL-STD a plusUnderstanding of advanced digital technologies such as Digital Twin, AI, IoT and predictive analytics a plusBenefits:Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance3 Weeks PTOPaid Holidays401K Contribution & MatchingRelocation Package
