In this role, you will be the guardian of system reliability, responsible for designing comprehensive performance strategies and identifying system bottlenecks before they impact the user. You will collaborate closely with DevOps, SRE, and Backend teams to optimize performance for high-volume, mission-critical financial transactions.ResponsibilitiesTest Strategy & Planning: Define performance objectives, SLAs, and KPIs (Response Time, Throughput, TPS, Error Rates) tailored to complex banking business logic.Scripting & Execution: Develop, maintain, and enhance automated performance test scripts for Web, API, and Microservices using industry-standard tools.Advanced Scenario Modeling: Design and execute a variety of test types, including Load, Stress, Scalability, Soak (Stability), and Spike testing to simulate real-world banking traffic.Analysis & Bottleneck Identification: Monitor system resources (CPU, Memory, Disk I/O, Network) in real-time. Conduct deep-dive root cause analysis of performance degradation across application, database, and infrastructure layers.Performance Tuning: Partner with developers to provide actionable recommendations for tuning JVM parameters, optimizing SQL queries, and refining caching strategies.Reporting & Insights: Translate complex technical data into clear, actionable performance reports and executive summaries for stakeholders.CI/CD Integration: Champion "Performance as Code" by integrating automated performance gates into the CI/CD pipeline for early regression detection. QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Proven track record of testing high-concurrency financial systems or core banking platforms.Skills Required Performance Testing Excellence: 3+ years of dedicated experience in performance engineering. Expert-level proficiency in JMeter, Gatling, Locust, or K6. Experience with LoadRunner is a plus, but a strong foundation in open-source tools is preferred.Monitoring & Observability: Hands-on experience with monitoring stacks: Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack. Proficiency with APM tools such as Dynatrace, New Relic, or SkyWalking. Strong command of Linux/Unix environments (shell scripting, resource monitoring, and log forensics).Infrastructure & Architecture: Deep understanding of Microservices architecture and distributed systems. Experience testing containerized applications on Docker and Kubernetes (K8s). Familiarity with cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their native scaling/monitoring services.Databases & Middleware: Strong SQL skills with the ability to analyze slow queries and execution plans (MySQL/PostgreSQL). Understanding of distributed caching (Redis) and message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ).Skills Preferred Experience with Java or Python (for writing custom test extensions or mocks).Knowledge of Chaos Engineering principles (e.g., Chaos Mesh, Gremlin).Certifications: ISTQB Performance Testing, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator).
