Compensation: $93,000 $117,000 annually + Full Benefits
Schedule: Full-Time | Day Shift | 40 Hours/Week

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join our team in Rapid City, SD. This full-time, permanent position plays a vital role in optimizing patient outcomes through expert clinical care, staff education, evidence-based practice, and collaboration with the healthcare team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate advanced knowledge in cardiovascular or acute care nursing and a passion for improving care delivery across the continuum.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as an expert clinician, consultant, and resource for nursing staff to improve patient care and outcomes.

  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments and develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.

  • Facilitate the implementation of evidence-based practices, policies, and procedures.

  • Provide clinical consultation including differential diagnosis and recommendations for care management.

  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, disease management, and lifestyle adjustments.

  • Lead and support quality improvement initiatives, utilizing data-driven methods to drive practice change.

  • Collaborate with staff and leadership on resource allocation, workflow improvement, and patient safety strategies.

  • Identify training needs and develop/lead educational programs or in-service sessions.

  • Stay current with clinical advancements and contribute to professional development, research, and innovation in nursing.

  • Demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills across interdisciplinary teams.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • Master's degree in Nursing Clinical Nurse Specialist track

Licensure & Certification:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license South Dakota (or compact state)

  • Additional certifications in specialty areas preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of acute care RN experience

  • Prior experience in a clinical leadership or educator role preferred
