Job Title: Medical Assistant

Location: Elk River Clinic, North Memorial Health, 800 Freeport Ave. NW #100, Elk River, MN

Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant at Elk River Clinic manages patient flow, assists providers with patient care, and performs both clinical and clerical tasks. They handle a range of responsibilities such as rooming patients, administering immunizations, supporting communication between patients and providers, and assisting with clinic support tasks like front desk operations and supply management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage patient flow and support providers with patient care.
• Perform clinical tasks including rooming, administering medications, collecting lab specimens, and conducting certain lab tests.
• Provide phone support, assist with prescription refills, and facilitate communication between patients and providers.
• Offer support with front desk duties, ordering supplies, and handling prior authorizations.
• Adhere to legal and regulatory standards and uphold patient confidentiality.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED); completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Experience: Prior experience in a clinical setting required.
• Certification: Current Medical Assistant certification and BLS certification.
• Skills: Proficiency with computer applications, ability to prioritize tasks, and excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Passed x-ray operator exam or willingness to take it based on clinic needs.
