_{We are seeking a Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician to support our pharmacy operations in delivering high-quality, safe, and accurate medication services. Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, the technician will handle medication preparation, distribution, inventory management, and customer service responsibilities in compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal standards.}

• _{Assist the pharmacist by retrieving medications, labeling containers, and performing medication counts.}

• _{Operate and maintain dispensing robots and automated counting devices.}

• _{Prepare and deliver medications to patient care units, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.}

• _{Restock and clean IV hoods and rooms in compliance with sterile compounding standards.}

• _{Conduct routine inventory checks, place orders, and restock medications and supplies.}

• _{Manage expired, recalled, or discontinued medications and complete proper documentation.}

• _{Monitor hood pressure logs and notify maintenance of equipment issues.}

• _{Maintain pharmacy equipment and perform scheduled cleaning.}

• _{Enter medication orders into the pharmacy system for pharmacist review.}

• _{Perform pharmaceutical calculations and verify prescriptions.}

• _{Assist with medication adjudication and resolve billing rejections with insurance payers.}

• _{Answer patient inquiries at the pharmacy window and by phone.}

• _{Process prescription refill requests and contact providers when needed.}

• _{Provide patients with updates regarding prescription status, and reverse billing for unclaimed prescriptions.}

• _{Support the pharmacist by triaging patient questions appropriately.}

• _{Complete documentation for controlled substance handling and emergency kit refills.}

• _{Assist with unit-specific procedures and quality assurance activities.}

• _{Maintain up-to-date clinical and high-risk competency records.}

_{Education & Certifications}

• _{Valid Pharmacy Technician License State of Alaska}

• _{Pharmacy Technician National Certification PTCB}

• _{Clinical Competency Assessment Required within 3 months of hire and every three years}

• _{High-Risk Competency Assessment Required within 3 months of hire and every three years}

_Experience

• _{Minimum 5 years of experience in a hospital, ambulatory clinic, or retail pharmacy setting}

_{Knowledge of}

• _{Generic and brand-name drugs, dosages, pharmaceutical terminology, and Alaska pharmacy laws}

• _{Automated pharmacy systems and medication dispensing technologies}
