Compensation: $66,000.00 to $79,000.00 + Full Benefits
Shift: Full-Time, Days
We are seeking a Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician to support our pharmacy operations in delivering high-quality, safe, and accurate medication services. Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, the technician will handle medication preparation, distribution, inventory management, and customer service responsibilities in compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal standards.
Key Responsibilities Medication Preparation & Dispensing-
Assist the pharmacist by retrieving medications, labeling containers, and performing medication counts.

Operate and maintain dispensing robots and automated counting devices.

Prepare and deliver medications to patient care units, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Restock and clean IV hoods and rooms in compliance with sterile compounding standards.

Conduct routine inventory checks, place orders, and restock medications and supplies.

Manage expired, recalled, or discontinued medications and complete proper documentation.

Monitor hood pressure logs and notify maintenance of equipment issues.

Maintain pharmacy equipment and perform scheduled cleaning.

Enter medication orders into the pharmacy system for pharmacist review.

Perform pharmaceutical calculations and verify prescriptions.

Assist with medication adjudication and resolve billing rejections with insurance payers.

Answer patient inquiries at the pharmacy window and by phone.

Process prescription refill requests and contact providers when needed.

Provide patients with updates regarding prescription status, and reverse billing for unclaimed prescriptions.

Support the pharmacist by triaging patient questions appropriately.

Complete documentation for controlled substance handling and emergency kit refills.

Assist with unit-specific procedures and quality assurance activities.

Maintain up-to-date clinical and high-risk competency records.
Education & Certifications

Valid Pharmacy Technician License State of Alaska

Pharmacy Technician National Certification PTCB

Clinical Competency Assessment Required within 3 months of hire and every three years

High-Risk Competency Assessment Required within 3 months of hire and every three years
Experience
-
Minimum 5 years of experience in a hospital, ambulatory clinic, or retail pharmacy setting
Knowledge of

Generic and brand-name drugs, dosages, pharmaceutical terminology, and Alaska pharmacy laws

Automated pharmacy systems and medication dispensing technologies
Skills

Sterile compounding and hazardous drug handling

Strong mathematical ability for dosage calculations
