Salary Range: $87,000 $110,000 annually + Full Benefits
Schedule: Full-Time, Day Shift
The Ultrasound Technician (Sonographer) is responsible for performing diagnostic sonography procedures, ensuring patient safety, maintaining high-quality imaging standards, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care. The role requires proficiency in two ultrasound fields (General and Vascular or Cardiac), a commitment to ongoing education, and adherence to department policies and procedures.
Essential Functions Clinical & Diagnostic Responsibilities:-
Perform diagnostic medical sonography exams for all body parts, ensuring accuracy and appropriateness for diagnostic interpretation by a radiologist.

Exercise professional judgment in performing procedures, applying radiation protection principles as required.

Maintain accurate patient records and files.

Assume responsibility for departmental quality assurance programs and procedures.

Ensure cleanliness and general hygiene of the department and work areas.

Provide assistance with ultrasound-guided invasive procedures as needed.

Perform patient transfers to and from imaging areas.

Participate in ultrasound-related policies and procedure development.

Consult with referring physicians regarding patient needs and diagnostic results.

Responsible for the care and maintenance of ultrasound transducers and equipment.

Actively pursue continuing education to meet RDMS certification requirements (ABD, OB/GYN, RVT, RDCS).

Assist with efforts to obtain and maintain accreditation for the ultrasound department.

Ensure all paperwork and documentation related to procedures are accurate and complete.

Rotate shifts as required and be flexible to department needs.

Take responsibility for departmental operations in the absence of the supervisor.

Adhere to SEARHC Administration policies and procedures.

Demonstrate ability to work effectively under stress and in high-pressure situations.

Pursue ongoing education and training to meet professional standards and certification requirements (RDMS, RVT, RDCS).

Attend departmental and organizational meetings, in-services, and disaster drills as scheduled.

Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support departmental functions.

Participate in maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Required:

ARDMS certification in one modality (ABD, OB/GYN, RVT, or RDCS).

Preferred for Career Growth:

ARDMS certification in two or more modalities (ABD, OB/GYN, RVT, RDCS).

Certification in multiple ultrasound categories (Tech III or IV levels).

Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association certification (must be obtained within 1 year of hire).

Ability to perform all diagnostic exams related to assigned ultrasound modality.

Tech I: ARDMS certification in one modality.

Tech II: ARDMS certification in two modalities.

Tech III: ARDMS certification in three modalities.

Tech IV: ARDMS certification in four modalities.

In-depth knowledge of ultrasound imaging techniques, safety protocols, and the principles of diagnostic sonography.

Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Strong communication skills to consult with physicians and provide accurate patient care information.

Proficiency in ultrasound-related equipment and software applications.

Commitment to continuing education and maintaining certifications.
