Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Radiology Manager to lead the Imaging Services Department. This role is responsible for the overall planning, organization, and supervision of imaging operations, ensuring high-quality patient care across all age groups-from newborn to elderly. The Radiology Manager will oversee regulatory compliance, budgeting, performance improvement, and staff competency within the department.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Direct and manage all imaging services to meet operational, clinical, and compliance standards.

  • Conduct daily rounds to monitor staff efficiency, patient satisfaction, and professional conduct.

  • Ensure the physical environment and equipment meet all safety and functional standards.

  • Perform ongoing evaluation of departmental operations, outcomes, and quality assurance.

  • Develop and implement updated imaging techniques and procedures.

  • Lead budget preparation and maintain fiscal accountability for staffing, supplies, and equipment.

  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate patient care and support performance improvement.

  • Uphold patient safety initiatives and participate in organizational safety programs.

  • Supervise imaging staff, including hiring, orientation, scheduling, evaluations, and ongoing education.

  • Maintain policies, procedures, and protocols in alignment with hospital and regulatory requirements.

  • Promote positive interdepartmental communication and community engagement.

  • Oversee preventive maintenance schedules and ensure appropriate storage of supplies and medications.

  • Support disaster preparedness and hospital safety initiatives.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.

Professional Requirements
  • Maintain a professional appearance and meet departmental dress code standards.

  • Consistently check and respond to email throughout the day.

  • Complete all required education and training within assigned timelines.

  • Attend annual performance reviews and at least 75% of department meetings.

  • Participate actively in quality improvement (QI) activities.

  • Follow all ethical and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA.

  • Accurately clock in/out using the hospital's timekeeping system.

  • Serve as a positive representative of the organization within the facility and community.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • High School diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program.

  • Minimum five (5) years of hands-on diagnostic imaging experience, including special procedures.

  • Prior leadership experience as a Supervisor or Assistant Director in Imaging Services.

Licensure & Certification:

  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

  • Certified by the State of Washington to practice and administer radiation.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

  • Active membership in a professional radiologic technologist organization preferred.

Skills & Abilities

Language Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to interpret technical materials, policies, and medical documentation.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Proficient in statistical interpretation, budgeting, and data analysis.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to analyze complex situations and solve problems effectively.

  • Able to manage multiple priorities and adjust to dynamic healthcare environments.
