This position involves working closely with contractors, developers, and the public to ensure compliance with zoning regulations and building codes. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent customer service abilities, and a thorough understanding of the permitting process. Responsibilities

  • Review and process permit applications for accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide information and guidance to applicants regarding the permitting process.
  • Coordinate with various departments to assess and process permits in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records and databases related to permits and applications.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation for public records.
  • Address and resolve inquiries and concerns from the public in a professional manner.
  • Ensure compliance with city regulations, codes, and ordinances.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in planning, construction management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in permit processing or a similar administrative role is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with building codes, zoning regulations, and permitting procedures.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with the public.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database management.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and adjust priorities as needed.
