Permitting And Easement SpecialistPosition summary: Responsible for managing complex and high-volume permitting/easement processes for projects. This role requires a strong understanding of permitting/easement procedures, regulatory compliance, and project coordination. The specialist serves as a subject matter expert, providing guidance to internal teams and ensuring timely permit/easement acquisition to support project delivery.Responsibilities:Permitting:Manage end-to-end permitting activities for multiple ftth projects across various jurisdictions.Develop and maintain strong relationships with permitting agencies and utility partners.Review project drawings and documentation to ensure compliance with permit requirements.Coordinate with engineering, design, and construction teams to address permitting conditions and revisions.Train and mentor junior permitting staff and assist in developing standardized permitting processes.Research and interpret local regulations, codes, and standards impacting project construction.Identify and elevate permitting issues to permitting regional lead or manager.Contribute to process improvement initiatives for faster permit turnaround and accuracy.Easements:Lead the acquisition and management of easements and right-of-way agreements for infrastructure.Review and interpret property records, deeds, and plats to confirm ownership and access rights.Negotiate terms and conditions of easement agreements with property owners or representatives.Coordinate with legal counsel to prepare and record executed easements.Work closely with engineers and construction teams to ensure easement boundaries align with design needs.Maintain detailed databases of easement status, cost, and progress across multiple projects.Identify potential conflicts, encroachments, or access challenges and develop resolutions.Mentor junior easement or permitting staff and support process improvement initiatives.Ensure all easement documentation complies with company standards and applicable laws.Education: high school diploma or equivalent.Physical requirements and environmental factors: flow of work involves normal mental and visual attention along with manual coordination much of the time. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Occasional travel to municipal offices, courthouses, or project site locations may be required. Specific vision abilities required by the job include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
