Technical/Functional Skills

In-depth understanding of pharmacy operations and workflows, including:

o Prescription processing

o Medication dispensing

o Inventory and supply chain management

o Pharmacovigilance and clinical aspects of pharmacy

o Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of HIPAA, DEA, and other relevant regulations to ensure data privacy and security.

o Familiarity with industry standards like HL7, NCPDP, and Surescripts for data exchange and interoperability.

Proficiency with pharmacy technology systems, such as:

o Pharmacy Management Systems (PMS)

o E-prescribing tools (e.g., SureScripts)

o Medication tracking and barcoding solutions

Technologies:

o API development and integration - Proficiency in Java or .NET for application development.

o Experience with SQL and database management systems like Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MySQL.

o Interoperability solutions

o Working knowledge of healthcare IT platforms, such as:

Cloud computing (e.g., AWS, Azure)

Data management tools and databases

Analytics tools for healthcare data

o Familiarity with application lifecycle management, including development, integration, and support.

Strong understanding of US healthcare regulations

Ability to translate pharmacy business needs into technical requirements.

Collaboration across diverse teams and portfolios

Managing stakeholder expectations and communication.

• Ability to analyze complex pharmacy workflows and identify areas for improvement through technology.

Excellent communication skills to bridge the gap between technical teams and pharmacy stakeholders.
