Overview The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the pharmaceutical manufacturing site. This includes overseeing production processes, ensuring compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and safety regulations, optimizing efficiency, and leading a team of production staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pharmaceutical manufacturing, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards. Responsibilities Develop and implement the overall manufacturing strategy in alignment with company goals and objectives. Provide leadership and direction to the manufacturing team to achieve production targets, quality and safety standards, and operational efficiency. Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute long-term plans for growth and improvement. Oversee all manufacturing operations and production, collaborating with management from maintenance, quality control, and supply chain management. Ensure compliance with GMP, regulatory requirements, and company policies across all manufacturing processes. Optimize production processes and workflows to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality and process safety. Work closely with the Quality Assurance department to address any quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality excellence throughout the manufacturing organization. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing manufacturing team, including managers, supervisors, and production staff. Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and capabilities. Promote a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages teamwork and innovation. Develop and manage the manufacturing budget, monitoring expenses and implementing cost-saving measures. Analyze financial performance and implement strategies to improve profitability and cost-efficiency. Prepare and present reports on manufacturing performance to senior management. Work closely with Finance and Supply Chain on standard costs, variances, and schedule adherence. Collaborate on CAPEX strategy, plans, and ROI. Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement lean manufacturing principles to drive operational excellence. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement strategies to achieve and exceed targets. Ensure a safe working environment by promoting and enforcing safety standards and best practices. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies. Investigate and address any incidents or accidents, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Qualifications Experience & Qualifications: Minimum of 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role. In-depth knowledge of GMP regulations and pharmaceutical production processes. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Proven experience in process improvement and lean manufacturing principles. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in using production management software and tools. Education & Certifications Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field. Advanced degree preferred. Key Attributes Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including regulatory technical writing skills. Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment with dynamic timelines and priorities. Exhibits the highest level of reasoned judgment, discretion, and integrity.
