About the Role:
As a Pharmacist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for patients across various departments within the hospital. You will be responsible for dispensing prescription medications accurately while providing expert advice on drug interactions, side effects, and proper medication usage. Your role will involve collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy management and improve patient outcomes. Additionally, you will contribute to hospital operations, including immunization services and patient counseling. Ultimately, your expertise will support the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care that enhances patient health and safety throughout Hendry Regional Medical Center.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Must be licensed as a Pharmacist with the Florida Department of Health.
- Experience in hospital pharmacy, retail pharmacy, or clinical pharmacy settings.
- Ability to perform patient counseling and administer immunizations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with pharmacy benefit management systems and electronic health records (EHR).
- Advanced training or certification in clinical pharmacy specialties.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance and quality assurance in pharmacy practice.
- Demonstrated skills in manual dexterity for compounding and medication preparation.
Responsibilities:
- Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Provide patient counseling on medication use, potential side effects, and health maintenance strategies.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure appropriate medication selection and dosage adjustments.
- Manage pharmacy inventory and ensure proper storage and handling of medications.
- Administer immunizations and educate patients on vaccine benefits and safety.
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records and pharmacy documentation.
- Participate in hospital pharmacy operations, including pharmacy benefit management.
- Demonstrate manual dexterity in preparing and dispensing medications safely.
