Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Pharmacist, Clinical Staff for a top healthcare client in Roanoke, VA.

The Pharmacist will provide high-quality pharmaceutical care as part of an integrated healthcare team, supporting optimal patient outcomes through collaboration, consultation, and direct involvement in treatment planning. This position emphasizes clinical expertise, patient education, and participation in multidisciplinary care initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical consultation and therapeutic decision support to healthcare providers.
  • Review, verify, and process medication orders to ensure accuracy and safety.
  • Prepare and dispense sterile/nonsterile compounded medications per SOPs.
  • Educate patients, families, and healthcare staff on medication usage and safety.
  • Participate actively in interdisciplinary rounds and pharmacotherapy discussions.
  • Respond to cardiopulmonary arrests and other urgent clinical situations.
  • Support departmental education, research, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory, safety, and quality standards.

Requirements

Education

  • Graduate of a College of Pharmacy accredited by the ACPE.

Experience

  • Pharmacy Practice Residency or equivalent hospital experience preferred.

Certifications/Licenses

  • License to practice Pharmacy in the Commonwealth of Virginia required within 90 days of hire.
  • Must obtain/maintain eligibility to perform duties restricted to licensed pharmacists once licensed.

Skills or Competencies

  • Excellent clinical decision-making and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage patient-specific pharmaceutical care and provide evidence-based recommendations.
  • Proficiency in sterile compounding, medication technology systems, and EMR use.
