Job Description:
This position works in a team-oriented environment alongside other pharmacists and pharmacy coordinators to execute the Organization's Drug Formulary. Acting in the capacity of a clinical pharmacist the incumbent will:
Responsibilities:
- Review utilization management (UM) requests and issue coverage determinations in accordance with all State and Federal regulations.
- Provide consultation into cases and disease management with the Organization's Medical Directors when appropriate.
- Follow-up on appeals in accordance with our regulatory guidelines.
- Identify and assist in implementing department process improvements to maximize overall efficiency.
- Other duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications:
How many years of experience are you looking for?
-5 years of related, progressive experience in the area of specialization.
What are the educational requirements?
-Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy with experience in clinical/formulary management or a Doctor of Pharmacy degree with experience in clinical/formulary management.

An understanding of managed care principles and practices is essential Demonstration of strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as, proficiency in the use of computer-based data processing Microsoft Office products, and database applications
