Job Description
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification and 1+ years Pharmacy Technician experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Support pharmacy operations in a Long-Term Care setting as an Input Technician, managing patient medication orders with accuracy and efficiency. This role offers remote work with equipment provided, as well as on-site or hybrid options for local candidates. The position is full-time with a 13-week contract to hire arrangement.
Responsibilities:
- Enter new medication orders and updates into patient profiles from the queue
- Identify and process requests for controlled substances following established protocols
- Resolve insurance rejections by troubleshooting or collaborating with the billing department
- Prioritize medication routes and orders when necessary
- Contact healthcare facilities to gather missing information or communicate dispensing issues
- Answer incoming calls promptly, within the first three rings
- Inform the Pharmacist of orders that cannot be dispensed and coordinate follow-up communications
- Adhere strictly to the Absolute Check Policy to ensure compliance and patient safety
- Collaborate with Back Counter staff to convey relevant updates
- Deliver professional customer service in all interactions
- Participate in all mandatory business meetings and training sessions
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Proficient working knowledge of Framework software (required)
- Pharmacy Technician license in Wisconsin; CPhT certification preferred
- Previous experience as a pharmacy technician in a similar environment
- Strong typing skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to adapt quickly to new systems and processes
- Solid clerical skills including filing and operation of standard office equipment
- Effective workload management and ability to work independently
- Quiet home workspace with reliable high-speed internet access
