Job Purpose and Summary As a Pharmacy Technician at CVS Health, you support the pharmacy team to deliver operational and service excellence within the store. You provide the first point of contact for patients and customers, assist in prompt and accurate prescription fulfillment, and deliver caring service that exceeds patient expectations. Throughout your shift you apply Standard Operating Procedures and best practices, communicate effectively with colleagues, and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and empowering work environment. Responsibilities Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health. Adhere to pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (i.e., production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, and drop‑off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment. Show empathy and genuine care to create personalized moments while serving patients at pick‑up, drive‑thru, and over the phone; offer immunizations and other services; and solve or escalate patient problems. Complete basic inventory activities, such as accurately putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns‑to‑stocks, waiting bin inventories, etc., as permitted by law and directed by leadership. Actively seek opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge; embrace a growth mindset; and contribute to a high‑performing team. Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs; eventually may work shifts in other market stores to meet business demand. Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles. Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, and volunteering in off‑site clinics) where permissible and supported by required training and certification. Immunizer Support (if applicable) Complete additional licensure and training requirements to obtain technician immunizer status. Educate patients on vaccine importance and refer vaccination queries to the pharmacist‑on‑duty. Monitor, respond to, and report adverse reactions per public health requirements. Review and document patient information for each applicable vaccine. Monitor and manage vaccine supplies. Required Qualifications Comply with all state board of pharmacy regulations and laws governing pharmacy practice, including age, education, and licensure requirements. Be at least 16 years of age if no minimum age is specified by state law. Have a high school diploma or equivalent; if not, be actively enrolled in such a program. Meet state‑level licensure and national certification requirements as applicable. Essential Functions Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends. Complete required training within the designated timeframe. Maintain attention and focus, concentrating on tasks, pivoting between them, and ensuring prescription accuracy. Deliver customer service and teamwork: look for ways to help, respond appropriately to patient reactions. Communicate effectively, actively listening, and conveying information accurately. Use mathematical reasoning for prescription calculations. Resolve problems by choosing the best course of action for patient or colleague interactions. Physical demands: remain mobile and upright for extended periods; lift and move items up to 20 lbs; maintain precision and visual acuity for small parts; use hand motions and verbal communication as required. Perform any additional tasks directed by Supervisor or Manager. Preferred Qualifications 1–3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician. Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting. Ability to work at home store and in other market locations as needed.
