Responsibilities A trained, supportive person who performs selected technical and non‑technical functions, not requiring professional judgment, under the general direction of a Supervisor and the immediate supervision of a staff pharmacist. Compensation Range Non‑certified Technician: $17.94 – $18.47 hourly. Certified Technician: $20.18 – $26.01 hourly. Qualifications Education Minimum: High school Diploma or equivalent. Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience Demonstrates mathematical skills including the ability to perform complex weight and measurement calculations, percentages, division operations, and decimal point manipulations. General data entry skills as well as excellent written and verbal skills are a must. Experience in a healthcare environment preferred. Certification Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification and New York State Pharmacy Technician licensed and registered, preferred at hire. If the Technician does not possess PTCB certification and NYS license upon hire, they must attain them within one (1) year of employment and maintain those items for the duration of employment. Physical Requirements Position primarily light work requiring lifting up to 25 pounds, occasional lifting or carrying objects weighting up to 25 pounds. Occasional bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, and reaching are required. Requires long periods of standing or constant walking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by spoken word is required. Work week is variable. Working Conditions Works in a clean, well‑lit, heated or ventilated facility. No routine exposure to hazards. May have occasional exposure to blood, body substances, infectious materials, chemical hazards, vibration, radiation, slippery surfaces, or noise that may result from performance of duties. Physical Demands: Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks. Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment. Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking. Ability to lift 25 lbs. Mental Demands: Ability to foster collaborative relationships, work well under pressure, organize and synthesize new information, prioritize tasks. Possesses critical thinking, analytical skills, flexibility. Ability to multi‑task. Requires detailed attention to work in an environment where interruptions cannot be controlled.
