The Position:
Working under the direct supervision of the pharmacist, the pharmacy technician assists in all pharmacy operation functions including but not limited to: entering prescription orders into the clinical information system, printing and pulling refills, entering medication profiles, compounding sterile preparations, assembling patient supplies, maintaining drug and supply inventory, making deliveries to patient homes, answering phone calls, and communicating with referral sources.
Hours (generally): 8am-5pm Monday-Friday. On call every 4thweekend
Qualifications:
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent
- Required: At least 18 years of age
- Required: Good interactive skills with employees, supervisors, referral sources and consumers
- Required: Registered with Alabama State Board of Pharmacy
- Preferred: National pharmacy technician certification (CPhT)
- Preferred: Completion of pharmacy technician training
- Preferred: One year experience in pharmacy setting
