Overview Job Description As a lab assistant at Amery Hospital & Clinic, you are responsible for collecting various sample types (with phlebotomy as the primary mode of collection), processing patient orders for testing, following laboratory procedures for specimen handling and providing collection instructions to patients for urinalysis, stool, and other sample types. Our Lab Assistant IIIs also perform moderately complex testing at our satellite clinics in Turtle Lake, Clear Lake and Luck as needed. At the core of what they do, laboratory assistants must exhibit a high level of trust in their abilities to put the patient at ease and provide a safe, warm and pleasant experience for our patients. Work Schedule 0.9 FTE/36 hours per week. Day hours from Monday - Friday with occasional weekend hours as needed. Responsibilities Collect various sample types (phlebotomy as the primary mode of collection). Process patient orders for testing and follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling. Provide collection instructions to patients for urinalysis, stool, and other sample types. Perform moderately complex testing at satellite clinics in Turtle Lake, Clear Lake and Luck as needed. Contribute to a safe, warm, and pleasant patient experience. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of 2 years detailed work environment with proven organizational skills and high level of computer knowledge Phlebotomy experience/training Ability to travel to satellite clinics in Turtle Lake, Clear Lake and Luck as needed Preferred Experience in EPIC computer system Benefits Amery Hospital & Clinic offers a competitive benefits package (.5 FTE or greater) that includes medical insurance, dental insurance, 403b with match, disability insurance and tuition reimbursement.
