Mize CPAs Inc. was recently named a Top 200 Workplace for 2024 by USA Today! We are a leading regional accounting and IT firm with offices in Topeka and Overland Park, Kansas. Our firm works with clients in a number of industries and has a rapidly growing restaurant and hospitality division that serves clients nationwide.

We are looking for an in-person only Human Resources Director in the Topeka office. Full-time availability is needed, 40+ hours per week. After initial training of approximately 3 months, a hybrid-remote work schedule can be discussed.

If you are the right person for this opportunity, you will have experience planning and implementing human resources policies, programs, and practices. You should also have experience leading an HR team by providing strategic leadership, tactical management, and effective implementation practices.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Strategic HR leadership planning - help prepare the Firm for the future
  • Talent acquisition and retention - compete for top talent with effective recruitment strategies
  • Compensation and benefits - provide an attractive total rewards package for our staff
  • Learning and development - lead oversight of professional and career development
  • Employee relations - communicate the Firm's values and comply with all federal and state requirements
  • Occasional same day travel for meetings and seminars

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or professional training/certification in the HR field
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in HR with at least 2 years in second level management
  • Minimum of 3 days per week in Topeka office
  • High level of interpersonal skills
  • Creative problem-solving ability

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HR experience in a professional services Firm
  • Senior HR certification (SHRM-SCP or SPHR)
