Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Physical Therapist (PT) Acute Inpatient Rehab for a top Healthcare client.

This essential role manages the complete therapeutic care process for an assigned group of patients within a fast-paced acute inpatient rehabilitation setting, coordinating closely with the patient care team and physician. The PT assesses functional status, develops and implements intensive individualized care plans focused on maximizing patient engagement, achieving rapid goal milestones, and ensuring a positive patient experience throughout the continuum of care.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive patient evaluations and administer specialized treatment interventions within the established scope of practice and professional ethics.
  • Assess and evaluate the therapeutic, rehabilitative, and functional status of acute inpatient rehab patients to guide the total plan of care development.
  • Deliver purposeful and skilled therapeutic care utilizing procedures and techniques to produce a measurable change in condition and function.
  • Instruct patients, families, and caregivers in the correct use of home exercise programs, therapeutic appliances, and mobility devices prior to discharge.
  • Collaborate with occupational therapy, speech therapy, and nursing to ensure a coordinated, interdisciplinary approach to patient rehabilitation.
  • Prioritize and manage a complex inpatient caseload, coordinating handoffs and assignments to maintain effective unit flow and efficiency.
  • Document all assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and patient education accurately and in a timely manner.

Requirements

Education

  • Master's Degree in Physical Therapy is preferred, though a Bachelor's Degree will be considered.
  • Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program is required.

Experience

  • Minimum of one (1) year of professional Physical Therapist (PT) experience is required.
  • Prior experience in an Acute Care or Inpatient Rehabilitation setting is highly desirable.

Certifications/Licenses

  • Current Licensed Physical Therapist in the relevant state is required.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification, or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Skills

  • Demonstrated expertise in managing complex patient assessments and developing functional, goal-oriented care plans.
  • Strong professional communication and instructional skills for effective patient and family education.
