Job Summary:
The Physical Therapist (PT) provides high-quality, patient-centered care by managing the complete therapeutic process for an assigned group of patients in coordination with the physician and the interdisciplinary care team. The PT performs comprehensive assessments, develops and implements individualized care plans, and delivers evidence-based interventions focused on functional recovery, goal attainment, and optimal patient outcomes in an acute inpatient rehabilitation setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans based on physician orders and patient goals.
- Deliver purposeful and skilled therapeutic interventions within the scope of physical therapy practice and professional ethics.
- Assess, evaluate, and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
- Educate and train patients, families, and caregivers on exercise programs, use of therapeutic devices, and home care techniques to promote independence.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary rehab team to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
- Prioritize and manage daily caseload efficiently, coordinating patient assignments and handoffs as needed.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation of all therapy activities and patient progress.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physical Therapy (from an accredited program).
- Licensure: Active Physical Therapy License in the State of Florida.
- Certifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of Physical Therapy experience.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
