Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
Location: Belle Mead, NJ
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Compensation: $70,000–$85,000/year + full benefits

Position Overview

We’re hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join a collaborative outpatient orthopedic clinic focused on high-quality, individualized care. In this role, you’ll support patient recovery by delivering skilled treatment under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist. Our team prioritizes strong clinical outcomes, ethical caseloads, and a supportive, team-based environment, never high-volume, productivity-driven treatment.

New graduates are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver skilled physical therapy interventions under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, following established plans of care
  • Maintain appropriate caseload management with a focus on quality, safety, and measurable patient outcomes
  • Provide treatments within PTA scope of practice, including therapeutic exercise, functional training, neuromuscular re-education, balance and gait training, and manual techniques as permitted
  • Document treatments, patient response, and progress accurately in the EMR in alignment with clinic policy and payer requirements
  • Communicate patient status, progress, and any changes in condition to the supervising Physical Therapist in a timely, professional manner
  • Educate patients on exercises, activities, and equipment use to support safe functional independence
  • Ensure compliance with New Jersey practice regulations, APTA ethical standards, and Medicare/private insurance documentation guidelines
  • Support a clean, organized, and professional clinical environment
  • Participate in team meetings, quality improvement efforts, and community outreach initiatives as needed
  • Contribute to a respectful, patient-centered clinic culture

Who This Role Is Ideal For

This position is a strong fit for a PTA who:

  • Values attentive, patient-centered care in an outpatient orthopedic setting
  • Is comfortable treating more than one patient at a time while maintaining high clinical standards
  • Enjoys close collaboration with Physical Therapists in a coordinated care model
  • Wants mentorship, continuing education, and long-term professional growth
  • Prefers a clinic that prioritizes outcomes and quality over productivity pressure

Requirements

  • Graduate of a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
  • Active New Jersey PTA license (or eligibility pending)
  • Current CPR certification
  • Strong communication skills and professional bedside manner
  • Reliable, team-oriented approach and commitment to high standards of care

Benefits

  • Sign-on Bonus: Up to $7,500 for full-time PTA roles (based on experience and commitment), paid through structured retention milestones
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off and six paid national holidays
  • Continuing education assistance
