Physical Therapist Assistant Rate Increase Apply
General Description MUST HAVE INPATIENT EXPERIENCE The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will work as part of a team to provide physical therapy service under the direction and supervision of the physical therapist. The PTA will implement selected components of patient/client interventions (treatment), obtain data related to the interventions provided, and make modifications in selected interventions either to progress the patient/client as directed by the physical therapist or to ensure patient/client safety and comfort. Responsibility PTA s assist the physical therapist in the treatment of individuals of all ages, from newborns to the elderly, who have medical problems or other health-related conditions that limit their abilities to move and perform functional activities in their daily lives. Patient care is provided as in-patient, outpatient and home health settings. AccountabilityThe Physical Therapist Assistant reports directly to the Rehabilitation Manager. Special DemandsMental: Astute communication skills with employees, physicians, visitors, administration and public. Ability to adjust to job situations that involve many different people and projects, requiring some independent action and judgment.Physical: Must have the ability and competency to operate the equipment of his/her position; perform technical procedures; speak intelligently and in a professional manner before others; and exercise supervision and management skills. QualificationsEducation: Must be a graduate of and have a certificate from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program. Must be currently credentialed by Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies, Division of Professions and Occupations, State Physical Therapy Board. Must have verification card of current instruction in BLS. Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience primarily outpatient experience preferred. Bi-lingual capabilities helpful. Working Environment General work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Work in a state of the art, newly built Rehabilitation Gymnasium, clean, well-lighted, heated and air-conditioned area. Exposure to unpleasant sights, smells and infectious diseases possible.
