- Training patients and caregivers on necessary skills for independence and productivity.

- Designing individualized programs to restore, reinforce, and enhance patients' physical abilities.

- Adapting to the needs of individual patients.

- Collaborating with peers and making patient referrals as necessary.

- Interpreting patient evaluations and test results.

- Developing treatment plans using various techniques.

- Advising patients and their families on in-home treatment options.

- Providing educational information about injury prevention and physical health.

- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals.

- Documenting patient care history.

- Complying with rules, regulations, and procedures.

- Holding a master's degree in physical therapy from an accredited institution or a bachelor's degree in physical therapy with 5 years of progressive experience.

- Holding a valid Physical Therapy license in the state(s) of practice.

- Compliance with state regulatory requirements.

- If the degree was earned outside of the U.
S.
, it must be evaluated to be the U.
S.
equivalent to a degree in Physical Therapy.
