Position Overview
SpectrumACS is hiring a Physician Assistant (PA) for a 26-week local contract at Granville Correctional Institution in Butner, North Carolina. This position provides medical care to incarcerated individuals in a structured correctional healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
Conduct medical evaluations and physical assessments
Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions
Prescribe medications within scope of practice
Order and interpret diagnostic testing
Perform minor procedures as appropriate
Respond to medical emergencies
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and custody staff
Requirements
Active North Carolina Physician Assistant license
NCCPA certification
Current DEA registration (if required by facility)
1+ years of clinical experience in primary care, urgent care, emergency medicine, or correctional healthcare preferred
Ability to work within a correctional setting
Strong clinical judgment and documentation skills
