Position Summary
The Physician Assistant (PA) provides comprehensive medical care under the supervision of a licensed physician across multiple outpatient, inpatient, and specialty service lines. The PA evaluates patients, performs examinations, develops and implements treatment plans, coordinates care with interdisciplinary teams, and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in both clinic and hospital-based environments.
Key Responsibilities (Across All Departments)
• Maintain a professional image and provide excellent customer service to patients, families, visitors, physicians, and staff
• Assess patient needs through history, physical examination, observation, and diagnostic review
• Record findings, develop assessments, and formulate treatment plans and prognoses
• Plan, implement, and coordinate care to meet age-specific and holistic patient needs
• Perform physical examinations and preventative health measures in accordance with physician guidelines
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive patient care plans
• Foster an environment of compassion, professionalism, integrity, and respect

• Practice evidence-based medicine and adhere to internal quality and safety initiatives
• Minimize unnecessary testing while maintaining high-value, patient-focused care

• Demonstrate ethical conduct, teamwork, and leadership in all clinical settings
Work Environment & Scheduling (Varies by Department)
• Outpatient clinics, hospital inpatient units, and on-site industry clinics
• Hospitalist and Cardiology roles may include 7-on/7-off night schedules (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Dialysis Access and Digestive Health roles typically follow weekday clinic hours
• Collaborative, multidisciplinary team-based practice
Requirements
Qualifications / Training
• Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program
• New graduates will be considered for select departments (Cardiology, Digestive Health, Dialysis Access)
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience required for Hospitalist roles
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience required for Occupational Health / Industry Clinic roles
• Prior experience in dialysis access, vascular, occupational health, or hospital medicine preferred for specialty assignments
Licensure / Certifications
• Active State of South Carolina Physician Assistant license verified by NCCPA
• Prescriptive authority (or eligibility to obtain)
• BLS required
• ACLS required for Hospitalist and Cardiology roles
