Position Summary

Reporting to the Shipping Manager, the Picker Packer will be responsible for the picking, packing, taping, labeling, sorting and manual lifting of boxes. This position fulfills customer orders and prepares them for shipping by using hand tools such as box cutter, tape dispensers, and scan guns. This position ensures company shipping goals are met and maintains company standards for efficiency, accuracy, safety and security.

Position Responsibilities
  • Perform assigned duties such as picking products from bulk orders and segregating them to pallets.

  • Ensures product boxed is accurate according to customer order.

  • Perform basic visual quality inspection on product.

  • Timely report defective product and or questionable product to department supervisor.

  • Places completed boxed product on pallets and prepares for shipping.

  • Ensures product is properly stacked on pallet with label information properly displayed.

  • Clean warehouse using brooms, mops, dusters and other cleaning equipment as needed

  • Maintain satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness

  • Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable safety, quality and environmental regulations

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Position Requirements
  • High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate

  • Ability to work any shift, overtime and weekends is required

  • Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail

  • Knowledge and/or understanding of the following programs and regulations pertaining to a food processing plant:

  • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)

  • Food Safety

  • Must possess basic reading, writing and mathematical skills

  • Required to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times

  • Required to stand and/or walk up to 90% of the workday

  • Required to comply with Company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)

  • Required to lift and move up to 50 lbs. pounds frequently

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work well with others


The pay for this role in the state of CA is $17.30/hr and is based on the position responsibilities and geographic location.
