As the Pilot Plant and Production Lead at Lumina Materials, you’ll be an essential part of our team, helping to move forward exciting technologies in highly filled masterbatches, additive delivery systems, compounding processes, mineral processing, and the application of polymers, additives, and minerals across different industries. Your responsibilities will include:
- Production Support:
- Operate production equipment to produce commercial product.
- Create and manage production schedules.
- Train new employees and supervise their performance.
- Monitor production processes to resolve any issues promptly.
- Pilot Plant Support:
- Coordinate activities related to the pilot plant, including equipment setup, trials, and data collection.
- Collaborate with R&D teams to transition successful pilot-scale processes to full-scale production.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and health standards.
- Evaluate machine resources to minimize downtime and optimize production.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives in the pilot plant.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Equipment troubleshooting and repair.
- Perform regular maintenance for production equipment.
- Work closely with maintenance teams to address any breakdowns promptly.
- Ensure all equipment functions properly and efficiently.
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):
- Develop and maintain SOPs for production processes.
- Train staff on SOPs and ensure adherence.
- Regularly assess safety standards across all areas.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and efficiency gains.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements.
- Set productivity goals for manufacturing teams.
- Organize workflow to meet specifications and deadlines.
Requirements
- Industrial or Mechanical Technical Degree or equivalent experience. 10+ years experience in an industrial manufacturing setting preferred.
- Proven experience in production management or related roles.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and quality standards.
- Proficiency in using production software and tools.
