Position Information Classification Title: Student Employment Program (FWSP/STEP) Working Title: Pioneer Graphic Designer - Student Datatel Position ID: PION8FEDWORK0A / PION9STEPROG0A Annual Hours: As needed or assigned not to exceed 25 hours per week, 750 hours annually Placement Range: $10.00 Position Type: Temporary Part-time Job Category: Student Reports To: n/a General Description The Pioneer Student Graphic Designer will assist the Pioneer Student Editor in designing page layouts and creating other graphics for the publication as needed. Responsibilities Use Adobe InDesign to design pages, create graphics, and write headlines. Abide by Board of Regents’ policies and College policies & procedures. Contribute to a safe educational and working environment. Adhere to established safety and health procedures. Complete quarterly health and safety training. Participate in all applicable emergency, evacuation, and shelter-in-place drills. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of Adobe InDesign Knowledge of AP style Ability to type Good communication skills Good human relations skills Must be self‑motivated Required Training None specified. Physical Demands / Working Conditions No. General Physical Requirements: Sedentary work, may occasionally exert up to 10 pounds of force. Physical Activities: Frequent communication with students, faculty, and staff; must exchange accurate information. Operate a computer and other office machinery. Visual Acuity: Must judge, observe, and assess accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work. Working Conditions: Indoor classroom, lab, or office setting. Preferred Qualifications None. Eligibility Current OCCC student enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for the Fall or Spring semester or 3 credit hours for the Summer semester, or current OCCC student with a Federal Work Study award.
