Job Title: Piping Engineer Oil and Gas
Location: Remote
Corporate Location: Denver, CO.
Travel: possible expense paid travel to Colorado
Duration: 6 month contract-to-hire
Pay: $55-$67/ HR Depnding on experience
Candidates can work remote.
Position available for a Mid-Senior Level Piping Engineer. This role offers the freedom and flexibility to work remotely and/orwork from the Denver office. Qualified candidates will have a diverse technical background in piping/mechanical engineering coupled with experience interacting with the design teams and leading tasks on projects.

Scope/Key Responsibilities:
  1. Work under the direction of a Piping Engineering Lead or act as a Piping Engineering Lead at the project level.
  2. Familiar with piping codes and standards requirements: ASME 31.3, ASME 31.1, ASME B31.4, ASME B31.8, ASTM, MSS, ASME, API, etc.
  3. Develop piping specifications and valve datasheets.
  4. Pipe specialty items selection.
  5. Familiar with pipe stress analysis utilizing CAESAR II.
  6. Responsible for coordinating efforts with other engineering disciplines.
  7. Provide technical guidance to less experienced engineering and design personnel.
  8. Check calculations and deliverables made by other engineers.
  9. Ensure that piping designs match the design calculations.
  10. Assists the design groups in resolving layout and detailing problems.
  11. Prepares piping material requisitions for valves, pipe, fittings, pipe supports, and other special piping components. Perform technical evaluation and review vendor data.
  12. Responsible for the piping engineering section of the pipe line list.
  13. Perform field trips for line walk down purposes and engineering information gathering.
  14. Contribute to construction work packages.
Required Experience/Credentials
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in engineering performing mechanical design engineering preferably in the oil and gas industry or heavy industrial.
  • P.E. certification is preferred.

Desired Credentials And Skills
  • Pressure vessel analysis using Compress or PV Elite
  • Knowledge of heat transfer and applicable software (e.g. TEMA, HTRI, etc.)
  • Knowledge of HVAC and Fire protection systems.
