Part-Time - 19 hrs/wk

How does this position make an impact on the community? YWCA Missoula is a mighty force of roughly 80 paid staff, more than 200 volunteers, as well as practicum and intern students. We depend on the individuals on our team to support this force to carry out the YWCA mission for women and families facing poverty, violence, and discrimination.

The ideal candidate: Is passionate about the mission of the YWCA and:

  • Monitors visits and exchanges between children and their non-residential parents.
  • Acts as a positive role model for children and their parents. Would be flexible, compassionate, and direct; addresses violent language and behavior by providing positive alternatives.
  • Redirects parents as needed, terminates visits when appropriate.
  • Helps the children in the program have fun and learn.
  • Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills.
  • Good work habits, including ability to organize and manage time and information.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalency Diploma, required.
  • Bachelors degree in human services or related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Two years experience working with at-risk children preferred.
  • Must pass a background check designed to protect the interests of women and children served by the YWCA programs.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with a variety of individuals, including clients, peers, and supervisors.
  • Good work habits, including punctuality and ability to organize and manage time and information.
  • Ability to accept, act on and offer constructive criticism.

What else you should know: This position is part-time, with 19 hours per week. Working hours are Sundays 11:30 6:30, Mondays 5:00- 9:00 p.m., Wednesdays 3:30 7:30 p.m., Fridays 3:30 7:30. The base wage for this position starts at $18/hour higher wages would be based on experience calculated using YWCA Missoulas wage matrix. Employee filling this role has access to benefits including holiday, vacation and sick time pay; health, dental, vision and life insurance available; reimbursed wellness expenses, employee discount and employee assistance program.
