PLANNING COMMISSION CLERK – CLERK HIRE: Jefferson County Department of Community Development has an opening for a part-time Planning Commission Clerk. This position organizes required elements for Planning Commission (PC) meetings including digital setup, agenda distribution, mailings, legal notices, etc. Attends PC meetings as coordinator. Records meetings; takes minutes of each meeting and transfers them to digital format for public availability. Other tasks may be as assigned or required. This position is limited to 69 hours per month. Minimum Qualifications: Individual needs to be able to perform each job duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed on the job description are representative of the knowledge, skills & abilities required. Education and/or Experience (Minimum): High school diploma or GED required. Experience with word processing and spreadsheet software (Microsoft Word and Excel), as well as virtual meeting software, preferred. Must possess a valid Washington State driver’s license. Hours & Compensation: This is a Clerk Hire position, working up to 69 hours per month, with an average of 12-20 hours per month. Anticipated starting wage of $22.14 per hour. No Benefits. One hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked. The typical schedule includes attending evening PC meetings on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month, 1-2 preparation meetings during the week, and additional time for assembling meeting packets and processing minutes following PC meetings.
