Position: Plant Controller
Location: Libertyville, IL - Hybrid, 3 days per week in office
Description: The Plant Controller will be responsible for owning the Libertyville operating profit & loss statement, cost accounting, inventory control, procurement, forecasting and budgeting for all cost centers in distribution and manufacturing and labor allocation. Will also act as finance liaison with Director of Ops, Factory & Distribution managers, cycle counters, projects managers, Quality and Engineering team.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with Commercial Sales team and project managers to ensure all C&I engagement are properly recognizing revenue
- Prepare monthly POC journal entries for all projects that require percentage of completion per policy
- Prepared monthly operating P&L for entire Libertyville location that measures performance vs Budget,
- Forecast and Prior Year
- Participate on Annual Budget and Quarterly forecasting process and leading coordination of all relevant cost center planning
- Coordinate and lead annual inventory and periodic cycle counting
- Coordinate BOM rolls / job shop costing and reviews to ensure they are accurate and accounted for properly
- Partner with Director of S&OP on inventory, excess and obsolete reviews to ensure appropriate reporting.
- Participate in weekly project scheduling meetings
- Partner with Logistics manager surrounding freight performance for all commercial and industrial projects.
- Identify and resolve all material variances related to unused project inventory
- Review labor utilization for distribution and manufacturing with Director of Operations
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Accounting
- Minimum 5 years as Plant Controller in a manufacturing environment
- Familiar with GAAP and IFRS standards
- Experience navigating in a large ERP environment
- Implementing standard costing policies
- Revenue recognition surrounding project account requiring percentage of completion, completed contract and multiple element reporting
- Ability to adapt in fast pace environments is a plus
