Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and driven engineer to lead and manage a variety of engineering projects, technical initiatives, and plant improvements across our wastewater treatment facilities in Connecticut and Massachusetts. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this role offers a unique opportunity to work with innovative treatment and recycling technologies while collaborating closely with Operations, Maintenance, Production, Safety, and Compliance teams.The successful candidate will play a key role in improving plant performance, identifying process efficiencies, and ensuring the successful execution of capital and technical projects—ranging from small-scale upgrades to multi-million-dollar initiatives. This position combines hands-on engineering with cross-functional leadership to support both day-to-day operations and long-term strategic goals.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Leadership and ManagementLead and manage engineering projects ranging in scope from $2,000 to multi-million-dollar budgets.Oversee all phases of new project development including engineering, design, procurement, and construction.Manage project procurement activities including RFQs, proposal evaluations, vendor negotiations, and budget oversight.Technical Support and OperationsProvide engineering and technical expertise to support daily operations across multiple sites.Partner with local production and maintenance teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.Support regional goals by collaborating with Operations, Production, Safety, and Compliance teams.Process Optimization and ImprovementEvaluate existing processing lines and equipment to identify and implement improvements.Analyze manufacturing bottlenecks and implement solutions to increase efficiency and reduce downtime.Execute plant upgrades and technical initiatives that contribute to overall company growth.Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with internal teams, customers, external consultants, and contractors to coordinate project execution.Promote a collaborative, solutions-driven environment across departments and stakeholders.Innovation and Environmental PerformanceWork with advanced water treatment and recycling technologies.Propose and implement improvements that enhance productivity, sustainability, and environmental performance.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preference for Industrial, Electrical and/or Automation, Mechanical, or Chemical disciplines).Experience: 5+ years of experience in engineering and managing industrial projects, with expertise in project management of small to medium-sized projects and managing multiple contractors.Experience in project management of small to medium-sized projects and managing multiple contractors.Experience in hazardous and non-hazardous waste treatment and recycling technologies Experience with chemical engineering process development work including process engineering calculations and data compilation Experience in preventive maintenance and electro-mechanical equipment installation, commissioning and troubleshootingSkills: Proficiency in commissioning plants and systems with high levels of automation and process instrumentation.High attention to detail in calculations, design, and operations. Must be able to develop process flow diagrams, process and instrumentation diagrams, I/O diagrams, and process control strategies.Comprehensive experience in the entire project lifecycle, including design, capital control, construction, and commissioning.Work EnvironmentTravel 20% of the time to different sites. Will be walking, standing, crawling, kneeling, lifting, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
