Redwood Farms Meat Processors, located in Estherville, IA, processes hogs of varying sizes allowing us to offer a variety of cuts and cut sizes.Redwood Farms is now accepting applications for Plant Maintenance! We offer an hourly starting wage of $26.17/Hr., a weekly paycheck, and regular increases! Our complete benefits package includes health, dental, vision, PTO, paid holidays, an impressive 401K match, and much more!Areas of accountability to be delivered with GRIT - our values of Generosity, Relationships, Integrity, and Teamwork.Repair and maintain production equipment, buildings, and groundsPerform weekly, monthly, and annual preventative maintenance tasksMaintain, repair, or replace grinders, augers, pumps, motors, and gear boxesPromptly respond to emergency radio calls; work efficiently to repair machinery with minimal downtimeCompletely repair equipment or ensure proper hand-off before leaving facilitySafely operate skid steers, forklifts, telehandlers, and scissors liftsCorrectly operate and maintain welding and fabrication equipment such as acetylene torches, air plasma cutters, and TIG weldersPerform building repairs and complete general handyman duties throughout facility, as neededAccurately complete work orders to document materials used and time spent on maintenance projectsSubmit purchase requests to Maintenance Manager to procure parts and suppliesPerform inventory cycle counts, as directed by Maintenance Manager; label and organize materials, as necessaryFollow all company safety policies, practices, procedures, and improvement initiativesComply with all regulatory compliance requirements including environmental and food/feed safetyPerform general housekeeping to maintain a clean work environment, as neededMaintain regular and predictable on-site attendanceSituations may arise that require employees to temporarily or permanently assume responsibility for tasks not specifically outlined in this job description. Employees may be requested to work additional hours and/or accommodate a heavier than normal workload.Experience working in a manufacturing environment with a mechanical and/or electrical disciplineAwareness of the importance of food safety standards while performing equipment maintenanceExperience with skid steers, forklifts, telehandlers, and scissors lifts, preferred; pass in-house certifications upon hireKnowledge of safety procedures such as confined space entry, line opening, fall protection, lockout tagout, and hot workEffectively communicate with supervisors and co-workers and follow written and/or verbal instructionsAccurately read and understand signs, labels, warnings, directions, operator manuals, service manuals, and wiring schematics associated with the maintenance and/or operation of instruments, equipment, and/or chemical usageProficient in basic math skills, measuring, and reading data trends; accurately and legibly record informationUnderstand and operate basic computer systemsAbility to function as both an independent contributor and team member, as necessaryInterest in continuous learning and developing new mechanical skillsWelding experience, a plusWillingness and ability to work extra hours as needed during the week or weekendAbility to work in a facility that processes pigsMust be 18 years of age or older for insurance purposesConsistently push and/or pull heavy objectsConsistently bend at the waist and/or knees or crawlConsistently climb stairs and/or ladders up to 10 feet or be elevated in scissors lifts up to 40 feetOccasionally lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist level; rarely lift up to 75 poundsStand up to 100% of the workdayAbility to distinguish colors (ex: wire color codes)Tolerance of varying environmental conditions heat, cold, and/or wet and slippery conditions
