Overview of the Opportunity

This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for ensuring production runs safely, efficiently, and on schedule while maintaining strict quality standards.


This position is ideal for a manufacturing leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys developing teams, and has a strong focus on continuous improvement. You'll play a key role in shaping operational performance, mentoring frontline leaders, and driving measurable results across multiple shifts.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily production activities to meet targets related to safety, quality, output, and cost
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and enforce compliance with workplace safety standards
  • Monitor production metrics, including yield, quality, and efficiency, and report on performance
  • Drive accountability for employee performance, including attendance, productivity, and safety adherence
  • Coordinate training and development initiatives aligned with standard operating procedures
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, GMP standards, and operational procedures
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve production challenges such as downtime or staffing gaps
  • Ensure smooth shift transitions with clear communication and minimal operational disruption


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; additional education is an asset
  • 2-5 years of leadership experience in foundry or heavy manufacturing environments
  • Experience overseeing melting, casting, or mold maintenance operations
  • Knowledge of workplace safety regulations and best practices
  • Proven ability to lead teams, prioritize tasks, and solve operational challenges
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills


Preferred Experience

  • Post-secondary education in a related field
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as 5S or Lean principles
  • Experience working in high-temperature industrial environments
  • Demonstrated success in driving process improvements and cost reductions
  • Experience managing multi-shift operations


Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a hot, industrial setting
  • Capable of standing and walking for extended periods (up to 12 hours)
  • Ability to lift varying weights as required
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
