Hood Industries, Inc. is a blend of wood manufacturing and distribution centers that include plywood, lumber manufacturing plants and twenty-three specialty wood product distribution operations. All located in fifteen states serving the northeast, southeast and southwest United States. We’re seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead operations at our Bogalusa, Louisiana manufacturing facility. Purpose: Lead the overall manufacturing operations by utilizing the Hood Management Philosophy of “The Hood Way” by engagingPeopleand managing throughProcessto drive sustainablePerformancewhile maintaining positive employee relations, meeting the company’s production goals, while operating within company policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: Provide overall leadership and direction for plant operations. Manage daily operations through supervisory staff while ensuring productions targets, quality standards, and efficiency goals are achieved. Develop and execute the plant operating plan aligned with the company’s overall business strategy. Lead and champion all plant safety initiative to maintain a strong safety culture. Ensure operations comply with company policies, regulatory, and legal standards. Manage the plant P&L focusing on controlling conversion costs and achieving production targets. Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPI’s) including productivity, safety, quality, inventory levels, and cost performance. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, weekly budgets and forecasts. Provide leadership and guidance to superintendents/supervisors and manufacturing teams. Foster a collaborative environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. Work with team members and division leadership to establish performance goals and support teams in achieving them. Resolve production, scheduling, and operational challenged as they arise. Manage maintenance programs through direct reports to support plant reliability. Establish and maintain standardized processes and operational expectations. Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the facility. Serve as the primary operational contact with company leadership regarding planning, production, and operational performance. Maintain strong customer focus on both internal and external stakeholders. Partner with the People Operations Manager to oversee the plant’s human resources activities in accordance with company policies and guidelines. Requirements/Qualifications: 10+ years of manufacturing experience including direct supervisory experience. 3 to 5 years leadership experience managing multiple departments in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated abilities to develop and implement KPI’s to measure operational effectiveness and efficiency. Experience managing budgets and allocating operational resources effectively. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams including engineering, production, and procurement. Proven leadership ability to motivate and build a culture focused reliability and continuous improvement. Preferred Requirements/Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Experience within the wood products industry. Salary Range: $144,100 - $180,000 Additional Information: Hood Industries offers a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package including medical, employee assistance program, dental, vision,401(k),cancer, flexible spending account, life, and LTD, available first of the month following completion of one month of continuous full-time employment.
