Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Plant Manager is the primary operational leader and day-to-day driver for the manufacturing facility. This is a true “doer” role—ideal for a leader who thrives on building structure, driving execution, and being actively engaged on the plant floor.

The Plant Manager will serve as the go-to leader for all site operations, with direct oversight of production, engineering, and maintenance. Leading a team of supervisors, this individual will be responsible for delivering operational excellence in a high-volume, automated, and highly regulated manufacturing environment.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Operational Leadership

  • Own full-site operations, including production, packaging, engineering, and maintenance
  • Drive execution of production plans in a high-volume, automated environment
  • Act as the primary escalation point and decision-maker for all operational matters
  • Maintain a strong floor presence to ensure performance, accountability, and rapid problem-solving

Team Leadership & Structure

  • Lead and develop a team of supervisors across key functional areas
  • Build structure, set clear standards, and establish best-in-class operating rhythms
  • Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement
  • Strengthen organizational capability through coaching and development

Process Implementation & Continuous Improvement

  • Design and implement efficient processes that support scalability and consistency
  • Drive improvements in throughput, labor efficiency, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
  • Leverage data and KPIs to monitor performance and identify opportunities for optimization

Quality & Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure strict adherence to cGMP, FDA, and other regulatory requirements
  • Maintain a constant state of audit readiness in a regulated manufacturing environment
  • Partner with Quality to lead investigations, root cause analysis, and CAPA execution

Multi-Customer / Contract Manufacturing Execution

  • Manage complexity associated with multi-customer production and shifting priorities
  • Ensure alignment between customer requirements, production scheduling, and operational capabilities

Safety & Culture

  • Champion a safety-first mindset and ensure compliance with all safety protocols
  • Lead by example to create a disciplined, organized, and high-performing culture

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Quality, Supply Chain, and Leadership teams to ensure alignment and execution
  • Communicate clearly and effectively across all levels of the organization

WHO YOU ARE

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial), Food Science, or a related technical field strongly preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive operational leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, with a minimum of 3–5 years in a plant management or senior operations leadership role
  • Demonstrated cGMP and regulatory compliance experience; solid working knowledge of FDA requirements and applicable standards (e.g., 21 CFR Part 111 for dietary supplements)
  • Experience in a high-volume, automated manufacturing environment with a strong understanding of automation systems, equipment qualification, and process control
  • Proven strength in process development and implementation — able to build structure, establish standards, and create repeatable operational systems
  • Exceptional organizational skills; able to manage complex, multi-priority environments across operations, engineering, and maintenance functions simultaneously
  • Demonstrated track record managing through supervisors, holding teams accountable, and developing frontline leadership
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a bias for action — comfortable making sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills; able to translate floor-level realities to leadership and vice versa
