Role Responsibilities


The Plant Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for the P & L and overall growth of the plant. We are looking for someone with proven leadership skills, innovative by nature, a strong history of execution and excellent communication skills. This role leads a team of 80 employees with 5-8 direct reports and is accountable for achieving sales goals, production metrics, maintaining quality standards, controlling costs, and fostering a positive, safe and productive work environment. The Plant Manager reports directly to the VP of Operations.


Leadership & Management


Lead and direct all plant personnel, fostering a culture of safety, growth, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Develop and implement strategic plans for the plant, aligning with overall company objectives. Gain followership with the Dallas team.

Manage and mentor direct reports, including performance reviews, development plans, and coaching.

Servant Leadership focusing on developing trust and a sustainable culture.

Effectively communicate plant performance, challenges, and opportunities to upper management.

Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Operations Management:

Oversee all aspects of plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality control, safety, and logistics.

Ensure efficient and cost-effective production processes, optimize resource utilization and minimize downtime.

Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production efficiency, labor, on-time ship, and scrap rate, and implement corrective actions to achieve targets.

Implement and maintain lean manufacturing principles and practices.

Safety & Compliance:

Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all applicable safety regulations and company policies.

Oversee the implementation and maintenance of safety programs and training.

Conduct regular safety audits and inspections.

Investigate accidents and incidents, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permits.

Financial Management:

Develop and manage the plant's operating budget.

Manage budget to actual performance, analyzing variances and implementing corrective actions.

Monitor and control costs, identifying opportunities for cost reduction.

Analyze financial performance and report on variances.

Prepare capital expenditure requests.

Quality Management:

Adherence to standard quality procedures and maintain robust quality management.

Ensure that products meet customer specifications.

Investigate and resolve quality issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions.

Promote a culture of quality awareness throughout the plant and hold the team accountable.

Continuous Improvement:

Drive continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing lean manufacturing methodologies and other best practices.

Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality.

Foster a culture of innovation and problem-solving.

Requirements


Qualifications


Bachelor’s degree in Business Mgmt and/or Organizational Leadership. 

Minimum 10 years of operations management experience

Working knowledge plant manufacturing systems and processes

Administrative knowledge regarding budgets, data collection and equipment analysis

Demonstrated leadership skills and commitment to growth

Excellent communication with the ability to effectively collaborate and work with all levels including corporate staff, leadership and executives.
