A confidential manufacturer is seeking a Plant Manager to lead a high-volume facility in Gary, Indiana. This is a critical leadership role for a proven plant leader who knows how to drive safety, performance, accountability, and operational improvement across a manufacturing site.


This role is best suited for someone who has strong plant leadership experience and comes directly from a paper and/or molded fiber manufacturing environment. That background is essential. The team is looking for a leader who can step in, build trust, lead change, strengthen plant performance, and help create long-term stability across the operation.


Key Responsibilities

• Lead plant operations across safety, production, maintenance, continuous improvement, and administrative functions

• Drive operational efficiency, cost performance, waste reduction, and output improvement

• Use data and metrics to identify opportunities and improve results

• Provide leadership to both salaried leaders and hourly teams

• Support capital project execution within the facility

• Partner cross-functionally to support customer needs and plant performance

• Help create a safe, efficient, and positive work environment


Required Background

• 10+ years of manufacturing experience

• Strong plant leadership experience with proven people leadership and change management

Direct experience in paper and/or molded fiber manufacturing is required

• Strong operational leadership across safety, production, maintenance, and continuous improvement

• Stable work history with strong tenure

• Experience using data, quality methods, and financial fundamentals to improve plant results

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred

• Lean, Six Sigma, and 5S experience is a plus
