Job Description
Leads and coordinates all production activities to ensure compliance with established procedures, company policies, and the employee handbook while driving efficiency, quality, and overall operational performance. Promotes accountability and sets clear expectations to ensure team members consistently follow proper processes, safety standards, and workplace guidelines. Monitors key metrics and implements process improvements that enhance productivity and support company goals.
Essential functions
Responsible for:
- Assigns duties to manufacturing employees and monitors quality of work.
- Ensures compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), safety regulations and other appropriate regulatory requirements.
- Ensures that employees follow appropriate Work Instructions, complete the corresponding process records and document procedure deviations.
- Reviews, modifies, and implements department processes, policies, and procedures.
- Develops and communicates goals and key initiatives to improve plant performance and success.
- Develops, monitors, and provides access to daily production requirements.
- Maintains knowledge of the skills of the labor force to manage in time of employee absence or unexpected peak demands.
- Interfaces with operations manager to control operating costs.
- Develops, implements, and monitors department budget; manages expenses within approved budget constraints.
- Maintains knowledge of machine capacity and develops solutions for efficient utilization.
- Participates in the qualification of processes and equipment.
- Oversee the preventive maintenance program.
- Ensures employees are trained for their job position.
- Supervise, motivate, and develop production staff; manages schedules and workflow.
- Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively works to promote and recognize performance.
- Maintains production-related communication with representatives from other departments throughout the company.
Competencies and Educational Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in related field or equivalent Communication skills: Bilingual (must speak and write English). Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Technical Proficiencies: Working with a knowledge of safety regulations, cGMP, ISO, and CE Regulations. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs. Knowledge of Statistical Techniques. Ability to collect, interpret & analyze complex data and information. Ability to manage priorities and workflow. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities. Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates. Commitment to excellence and high standards
Judgment and Decision Making: Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
Experience: Manufacturing labor.
Physical Demands
Must have good hand dexterity and visual aptitude. Performs moderate lifting and bending. The remaining stand for most of the shift hours. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) (i.e. Laboratory Coat, Hair cover, gloves).
Work Environment
Manufacturing environment. Exposure to moderate noise. Proximity to moving manufacturing equipment.
