Plant Manager Apply
The Plant Manager will be responsible for directing all day-to-day plant operations, ensuring safety, quality, cost effectiveness, and on-time delivery. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of metal processing operations and be capable of managing a fast-paced, high-volume environment focused on cutting, processing, and distribution of metal products. This role will also collaborate closely with downstream sister companies to support production flow, shared resources, and broader organizational objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesManage all daily plant operations, including cutting, shearing, sawing, staging, packaging, and shipping activitiesProvide leadership, supervision, coaching, and performance management for plant personnelDevelop and maintain production schedules; assign workloads to meet customer delivery deadlinesEnsure compliance with OSHA regulations and all company safety policies; promote a safety-first cultureMonitor machine and equipment performance; coordinate maintenance, repairs, and downtime planningImplement and maintain quality standards to ensure products meet customer specificationsDrive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce scrap, and optimize material usageOversee inventory management, material handling, and accuracy of stock levelsCollaborate with sales, logistics, and operations to support order fulfillment and customer expectationsMaintain housekeeping standards and enforce 5S or similar workplace organization programsPrepare and review production reports, KPIs, and operational metricsParticipate in hiring, training, and development of plant employeesSupport budget planning, labor forecasting, and cost-control initiativesQualificationsMinimum 5 years of plant or operations management experience in a metal service center or closely related metal/industrial environmentStrong understanding of metal processing equipment and operations, including shears, saws, forklifts, and overhead cranesDemonstrated history of effective leadership, coaching, and team buildingExperience overseeing shipping/receiving and warehouse operations preferredStrong problem-solving skills with an ability to make timely operational decisionsProven ability to work in a high-volume, deadline-driven environmentExcellent communication, planning, and organizational skillsExperience implementing lean manufacturing, 5S, or other process improvement methodologiesWorking knowledge of ERP systems or warehouse management systems (WMS)Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, but not requiredPhysical RequirementsAbility to work in an industrial manufacturing environmentAbility to stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periodsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds occasionallyAbility to work in varying temperatures and around moving machineryCompensation & BenefitsBenefits may include:Competitive salary and bonus programMedical, dental, and vision benefitsPaid time off and company holidays401(k) retirement planCareer growth opportunities within a growing organization
