Position Overview

The Plant Manager is responsible for the daily leadership and performance of the manufacturing facility, with accountability for safety, quality, delivery, and operational execution. This role leads mechanical and electrical assembly operations, final product testing, warehouse and shipping activities, production planning, facility maintenance, and health, safety, and environmental performance.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing & Production Operations

    • Lead mechanical and electrical assembly operations to meet safety, quality, and delivery commitments
    • Ensure production processes are stable, repeatable, and well controlled
    • Balance labor, equipment, and materials to maintain consistent throughput and minimize disruption

Quality & Final Testing

    • Own final inspection, testing, documentation, and product release
    • Ensure quality and testing processes are consistently followed and issues are addressed at the source
    • Partner with Quality on root cause analysis and corrective actions

Warehouse, Planning & Shipping

    • Lead warehouse, inventory control, kitting, and shipping operations
    • Ensure accurate material flow and on-time shipment of finished goods
    • Align production schedules, materials, and labor with demand

Facility, Maintenance & HSE

    • Own responsibility for the facility, equipment, and maintenance programs
    • Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance supports reliable plant operations
    • Serve as the site leader for health, safety, and environmental compliance

Leadership & People Management

    • Set clear expectations, reinforce standard work, and address performance issues promptly and consistently
    • Build a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement
    • Be present on the shop floor to coach, problem-solve, and support teams

Continuous Improvement

    • Drive practical continuous improvement focused on safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency
    • Establish operating discipline through standard work, visual management, and structured problem-solving

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5–7 years of experience leading manufacturing or plant operations in an assembly-based environment
  • Demonstrated depth in people leadership, including developing supervisors, managing performance, and leading through change
  • Proven experience owning day-to-day plant execution across production, testing, and warehouse operations
  • Strong communicator comfortable working directly with frontline employees and leadership
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience preferred (certification not required)
