Job Description:
Duties:
- Perform plant and seed production based activities with commercial crops, such as soybean and maize, in greenhouses and growth chambers in the well-controlled growth environment.
- Common tasks performed
- Plant care including hand watering, fertilizing, and plant maintenance
- Planting, sampling, transplanting, pollinating, and discarding plants
- Plant growth performance observations and data collections
- Ensure adherence to regulatory compliance requirements
Skills:
- Ability to perform all physical duties required in greenhouse operations under well controlled environment conditions.
- Ability to work weekends and occasionally holidays.
- Greenhouse experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability and motivation to work in unsupervised situations
- Pay attention to plant care and experimental details
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Commitment and adherence to excellent stewardship practices
- Perform all tasks in compliance with HSE safety guidelines related to company policies and practices
- Ability to use MS office software (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other databases efficiently
Education:
- BS degree or equivalent in agronomy, horticulture, or plant science related field or an associate degree with 2 years of experience in plant biology
