Colorado POS Pros (CPP) is seeking a skilled and dedicated POS and Cabling Technician to join our team in Colorado. Role Overview

As a POS and Cabling Technician at CPP, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting POS systems (hardware & software) and cabling/network infrastructure for our diverse clientele. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring our clients' POS systems operate smoothly and efficiently.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain POS hardware and software
• Troubleshoot and resolve POS system issues, both hardware and software-related
• Perform software updates and upgrades on POS systems and computers
• Work on Internet Enablement and pulling cables
• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace low-voltage cabling for Mobile Point of Sale (MPOS) systems and networked wireless printers
• Build, repair, and upgrade desktop and laptop computers
• Install and configure computer peripherals (printers, scanners, etc.)
• Set up and maintain local area networks (LANs)
• Configure routers, switches, and firewalls
• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues
• Support mobile POS systems, tablets, and smartphones used in business operations
• Provide expert recommendations for new POS software and hardware solutions
• Ensure compliance with payment card industry (PCI) standards
• Train Junior and mid-level technicians

Qualifications

Education and Certifications:

• High school diploma or GED (required)
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred)
• Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA, or vendor-specific POS certifications (highly valued)

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in POS system installation, configuration, and maintenance
• Knowledge of hard-wired and wireless devices: Routers, Switches, and Firewalls
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware and software troubleshooting
• Experience with networking technologies (router, switch configuration) and protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS)
• Familiarity with various POS systems (Toast, Square, Lightspeed, NCR) is a plus
• Familiarity with various operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux)
• Understanding of mobile device management and support

• Attention to detail and adaptability to new technologies

Additional Requirements:

• 10+ years of field experience in POS or related technical support roles
• Have experience pulling and/or terminating wire in residential, commercial or government environments
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record (have own transportation and be willing to travel to job sites within a 50-mile radius of Erie, CO
• Ability to lift and move equipment up to 75 lbs, not less than 50 lbs
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
