Our client is looking for a Police Department Dispatcher to join their team!

Position Description:
Our client is currently seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Police Department Dispatcher located in the City of Miami Gardens, FL. This is a full-time, non-sworn, non-exempt role that involves responsible administrative and technical work. The Dispatcher will be tasked with receiving calls for police services and information, as well as dispatching personnel and equipment for emergency services. This position requires the use of telephone, radio, computer, and other communications equipment on an assigned shift.

Key Responsibilities:
  • ​​​Operating the police radio system, radio recorders, and computer terminals.
  • Dispatching personnel and equipment in response to emergency calls.
  • Managing requests for police services and providing relevant information as needed.
  • Conducting periodic testing of communications equipment.

Qualifications:
  • A valid driver’s license with a good driving record, maintained throughout employment.
  • Successful completion of all required training, including National Incident Management System (NIMS) training.
  • Availability to work all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in an equivalent police and/or fire telecommunications center.
  • Graduation from an accredited high school, vocational school, or GED, supplemented by business school courses in typing, data processing, and general office procedures.
  • Possession of the Florida Department of Health Certification for Emergency Dispatching.
Please note that applicants qualifying for employment will be subject to a polygraph examination and an extensive background screening.
