The incoming PRA will develop a new model or utilize existing partial equilibrium market-clearing models to determine the role of conservation policies and programs, closure of wood-consuming mills, and emerging markets for sustainable bioenergy products (e.g., sustainable aviation fuel, masstimber, methanol, biochar, etc.) on roundwood prices (and related land use changes) in the Southern United States. The incoming PRA is expected to complete research within a year from the start date (spring/summer 2026), although an extension of the appointment is possible based on performance and resource availability. Place of Work: Clemson University is a Carnegie R1 research institution dedicated to "High Seminary of Learning." It is a Land Grant University of the State of South Carolina.
